Founded in 2015 by Sami Bıçak, Turgutreis Ada Beyi Balık Restaurant was started by Sami Bıçak, the grandson of the headman Halil in the Akyarlar neighborhood as the heir to a long-established fishing tradition. His grandfather was known as “muhtar Halil” in the neighborhood and had started his fishing career at a young age, starting with sponge fishing. This legacy was passed on to Sami Bıçak and after many years in Turgutreis Fishermen’s Bazaar, he continued to serve as Turgutreis Ada Beyi Fish Restaurant.
